After writing in many other genres for a long time, I recently took up lyric-writing, which is deceptively and distinctly different from writing poetry, I’m learning. The lyrics are in a variety of genres: rock, jazz, country–even some blues. I’m working with one composer, as well as getting some advice from a longtime, very successful lyricist.
